The Making of a Revolutionist ~ 2
Many refer to the names given to us Afrikan Amerikkans as “slave names,”
but my theory i that we were not slaves then, but captives brought toa fand
10 be exploited for our labor and whatever skills we had to offe to our
Kidnappers and body snatchers. The name chosen for me by my mother,
‘which was “Sidney” meant “king, noble, high one” in the broken English
Janguage. That's how she raised me, as a king, with my two noble and
queenly sistas.
My mother was hard working, exceptionlly beautiful, light-skinned, single,
and morally conscience. In our first home, we did not have running water it
was a small house, goodly funished with a large yard. We never weat
hungry nor went without clothes.
My two sistas and I were good in school. My only difference was that I was
always talking in class and they were relatively quiet. Once ook some
Mcfl.mmmmmhumfum ‘When the
principal had a meeting with my mother, he said I would grow up to be a
frug dealer. The characteristic tait and skill had wes being a tradesman, a
‘businessman, but the skill would be wrongfully applied. I only had two
fights in school throughout the 12 years of grade school.
In 1988 1 became a Black Panther in San Diego, CA, but I really didn’t get
involved that much because of the contradictory character of those who were
in our particular chapter. 1 went to Tijuana every weekend, worked in
various places removing asbestos and basically just doing “my thang.”
T came to Texas to visit my mother and got involved in a robbery. Really,
only loaned them s weapon to comamit the crime, which was neve used o
i st the crime, and I tood by about 30-40 yards away and witnessed
the incident. 1 was charged the seme as those who actuelly committed it. [
was given 10 years probtion and violated that about four months lter for
possession of cocaine.
I mostly sold marijuane, but I would sale cocaine from time to time. So for
my violating my 10 year probation, I was given 20 years plus 12 years for
the drug charge ran concurrent.
My stay in prison was only 2 years and 8 months. Upon release, I stayed
with my mother for sbout 10 manths. I entered college in Ft. Worth to
‘obtain my Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, which 1 later
changed to psychology.
One stormy day I was tested for drugs, marijuana and the hand manual test
‘came up pasitive. 1 requested that it bé seat to the lab for confirmation, but
he declined to do so. The next week I was scheduled for a home visit. Iwas
ate coming and I met him on the street coming from my ouse. He said he
dida't want to hear i, and that he would be requesting a blus warrant for my
arrest. After doing 13 months in the county jail, my parole was confirmed a3
Violatod for being lato for s home visit and “allegedy” faling a drug
urinalyss, tes fo the use of marijuans, that bad “never” beea “confirmed”
byalab. 2]
In January of '98 I started planning political activities upn relcase. I wrote
well over 30 letters a month, 350 lettes a year, secking to give information
and be supported upon release so 1 could organize and mobilize the
oppressed. 1 have writien a book, fiyers, pamphiets, and newsletters, all of
‘which are awaiting sponsors, publishing, and distribution. So far, oaly one
‘publisher has looked at these. 1 have established chapters for MPLU
Prison Labor Union founded by Jerome White-Bey) here in Texas.
1 have hed my parole stopped because | was mobilizing Texas prisaners to
get pai for our labar. 1 presently await response from B. Kwaku Duren in
Los Angeles, California for opening a Texas chapter for NPVM (New
‘Pasther Vanguard Movement). | am o member of the Ceater for Law and
Justioe and Harm Reduction lso. 1 have sent detailed theories for economic
‘developOment and detailed analysis of the kikspitalistic structure.
1 have had my parole stopped for rocks “off the ground.” Literally, “rocks.”

By any standard known to man kind today, amerika is the lend
of plenty. It is tha land where the strests are reportedly
paved in gold." The place whore indigents from around the
globe flock desporately in thier attempt to participate
in that seeaingly non-stop amerikan occupation, "the pursuit
of the all-nighty dollar.”
1n amerika, any one can and many do achieve the amerikan drean.
They have not ona, but at least two cars. A five bedroon home
is considered modest. Vacations to exotic lands are often no
Jonger considered a luxury, but a mecessity, needed to maintain
one's over-all health after a year of dealing with carcer, the
dow ones, internet whesling and desling and clawing one'
vay to the top of the money pile. A vacation now becomes &
modical noed to avoid an impending heart attack, painfull
\ulcers and migraine's. These seem to be some of advantages
and disadvantages of chasing and achieving the amerikan drean.
But what of those amerikans who do mot have all of these ad-
vantages? Are they not as worthwhile as those who do? Are
they to be forever left out of attaining the amerikan dresn?
Why can't these usfortunates live in the best of nieghborhoods
rathor than being relegated to trailers in grisy under-developsd
parks, and being known as "trailer park trash.” OF living on
top of cach other in squalid, dilapidated housing inhabited
by ants, sice and raccoons.
1n my atteapt to respond to the question "why are some judged
by where and how they live, rather than thier character?” it
is important that I clarify vho "they" are. For the purpose of
this weitting, “they® can only be those familiar to the writer,
(black and white amerikans.)
Pirst let's exanine the white race and the role they play in
ent
We are all avare of which race wields the vast majority of
povor in this country. As I said earlier, amerikaa is known
as.the land of plenty and the white race, (after they nearly
annihilated the first inhabitants) founded this country so,
it is only right that they should reap all the bonefits of this
Jand that was built thru the ingenuity of the white fore-father®
So, as decendents of those early fore-father, white amerikans
today have the inherent right aquire all that you can. This
includes obtaining wealth which assures the multiple cars, a
spactous hose in a good nieghborhood along with yearly vacations
to tropical islands. If you a white amerikan born and bred does
not have the sease, the get up and go, the moxy, the determi-
nation, the whera-with-all to grab the brass ring extonded to you
simply because you have white skin, then it is only right that the
white aserikan who has achieved the status of the well-to-do
a0d 1s 1iving the good life can and should look down his upper-
class nose at you in judgement of you who are poor white trash
and so sorry that they won't take advantage of thier Sod given
whiteness to achieve the amerikan dreas.
As for amerikan blacks; our fore-fathers were dragged to this land
in chaing kicking and screaming, claving at the sand of the shore ‘
for a last taste of our mother earth before being hauled to the
vaiting ships that would take us forever from our beloved home
land. We dted by the thousands in a useless hopeless attempt
to remain where we were.
S0, 1f we are living in squalor and dilapidated housing, at
least we are free to do so and not playing mamy nurse maid or
Slaving in the hot sun in the cotton fleld for a white master who
would never share the profits of our labor with us.
There-fore, for the purpose of this question, and for this
witter's opinion, black amerikans are exonerated from the title
of snob, and the Judging of others in any area of our society,
e 1t living arrangesents, hank accounts, or skin color. Rimply
put, black aserikans do not Judge othars because of whare they
live or the color of thier skin. That is strickly a white
anertkan past-tise.
The above 1s solely the opinion of the writer and should not be
considered a reflection of anyons else's opinion.

Amerika--Freedom Is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength
Introduction
It Is my purpose to demonstrate that the typical Amerikan
‘wageworker Is both a slave and a victim of Involuntary servitude. In
demonstrating this, T will refer primarily to "established” authorities
which are not subject to dispute by the "mainstream.
Definftions of Bondage
We first begin with the definitions of servitude, slavery, and the
k. T folowing defintions come from the Merriam-Webster (),
) A person held In servitude s property.
2. Slave: DRUDGE
"To do hard, menial, oF moNotoNous work.
“The following definitions are taken from Black's Law Dictionary
(7™ edition, 1999)
‘Involuntary servitude: The conditions of one forced to labor--for
pay or not~for another by coercion or imprisonment.
‘Stavery: 1. The situation In which one person has absolute
power over the life, fortune, and fiberty of another. 2. The practice of
keeping Individuals In such a state of bondage.
In the case of United States v, Kesminskl, 487 US 931 (1988) at
page 932, the US Supreme Court defined servitude as :
“Servitude means ‘a condition In which a person lacks liberty,
especially to determine one's course of action or way of life."
In the remainder of this thesis, I will show that the condition of
fabor under which the Amerikan wage laborers find themselves.
conforms to all of the definitions of bondage.
The Amerfkan Conditions of Bondage
In his famous treatise, "The Weaith of Nations,” Adam Smith
makes three things clear about "developed socleties, viz: 1. that the
industrially compelled practica of division of labor is Indeed drudge
‘work, 2. that this sort of drudge work destroys the workers' mental
facillties, and 3. that this drudge work Is a form of labor Into which the
poor working famlly is forced. Smith stated as follows: “The
understandings of the greater part of men are necessarily found by
thelr ordinary employments..the man whose life is spent In performing
‘few simple operations, of which the effects are perhaps always the
same, or very near the same, has o occaslon to exert his
understanding..and generally becomes as stupid and ignorant as it is
for a human creature to be..but In every Improved and
civilized soclety this Is the state Into which the taboring poor, that Is,
the great body of people, must fall..” While Adam Smith Is halled as
the fountainhead of modem economic thought, this observation made
by him Is always avolded In mainstream discussions and writings on
him and economics.
“The above quote from Smith establishes that the modern
‘conditions of industrial nations is that of siavery (monotonous,
menial, and drudge work) over which arrangement the labor ciass has.
1o power to change or avold (Involuntary servitude) and therefore
renders the labor boss's position one of total power over the employed
workers' Iivelihood.
These points are brought Into much clearer focus by another
writer who was dedicated to the common man and opposed to the
labor bosses enough to make the wage workers' conditions of bondage
clear and plain. In his book, " Soledad Brother," George L. Jackson

or even Paris when you get the urge, you are a slave. If you're held in
same as being held In one spot because you are the owner's property.
Here in the black colony the pigs still beat and maim us. They
us and call It justifiable homicide. A brother who had a smoking pipe in
his belt was shot In the back of the head. Neo-slavery Is an economic
condition, a small knot of men exercising the property rights of the
slave as if he were, in fact, property. Succinctiv: an economic
condition which manifests Itself In the total loss or absence of seif-
determination. Only after this Is understood and accepted can we go
on to the dialectic that will help us In a remedy."
v
Labor Forced
This all brings us to the central contradiction between Amerika's
economic arrangement and the political rights it professes to give Its.
Gitizens, demonstrating that the highest laws of Amerika take a back
seat when opposed to the ruling class's Interests in explolting the
fmasses for private profit. That contradiction is found in section one of
the thirteenth amendment to the US constitution, which holds that all
slavery and Involuntary servitude Is forbidden except In cases of those
convicted of crimes. I here quote that provision: "Neither siavery nor
Involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime whereof the
party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United
States, or any place subject to thelr jurisdiction." It must then follow,
that every so-called minority and poor working class Amerikan Is
presumed by the government to be guilty of some criminal violation,
and without any opportunity to prove their Innacence. We might now
have an explanation as to why those who overflow Amerika's prisons
are near exclusively members of the so-called minority and poor white
working classes.
1f the average Amerikan worker took the notion to refuse to
participate In the wage slavery economic arrangement, he will be
inevitably left and forced by the system to become a vagrant and
resort to other "criminal® acts In order to survive. And If a larae
number of workers elected to also abandon the wage system, they are
Subject to belng forced by the government back to work under such
Taws as the Taft-Hartley Act (29 US code sections 141 et seg) under
the penalty of Imprisonment or fines should they refuse to obey. The
Worker has o discretion In the matter. Amerika's economic system
Hdes upon the enslavement of over half the population, who've been
onditioned by the corporate media, universal compulsory educational
System, political mouthpleces, and the Indoctrinated nuclear family
From birth to belleve that thelr slavery s freedom and that the erosion
of their minds under divided labor is conductive o strength.
'As the foregoing demonstrated, the oppressive soclal
contract of Amerika Is organized around slave labor, while It professes
%o be based upon principles of liberty and self-determination for every
Amerikan. Amerika's character as a soclety of slaves and enslavers did
ot change with the close of the Civil War (1861-186S), nor In the
enactment of the thirteenth amendment (1865). Indeed, It has
Fendered the entire labor lass Into slaves with no alternatives for
cquiring "freedom,” except that these slaves may compete aganst
one another to acquire more privileges and a small increase in wages.
“ith which to galn more diversionary toys and tokens. As long as such
economic opportunism and exploitation exist, no one can claim with
any degree of honesty that the Amerikan system s based upon
principles of liberty and democracy. In fact, It Is the social majorfty--
the poor workers--who are the very slaves of soclety, upon whose
backs the economic and ruling class Is saddied. As one writer
observed, “True liberty is based on economic opportunity. Without It,
all liberty is a sham and a lie, a mask for exploitation and oppression.
In the profoundest sense, liberty is the daughter of economic
ualiey.
